I provide one-to-one online maths tuition to children in Years 1 to 13, using Bramble.
My rates are £30 for a one hour session.
What we do in that hour depends on the student. I might revise work from previous sessions, carry on with our current topic or start a new one, and for primary children I like to squeeze in some maths based games! We can go over what they are doing in school or cover a topic that I’ve spotted could use more work!
I may follow up with more information on what we have covered if they could use some more support at home.
I mainly use my own material, but also like to use past papers for students at KS3 or GCSE, so they can see how the work is helping them towards their exams.
Here is one of the lessons I might use for a GCSE student studying quadratic equations.
I do not set homework. Students tend to be very stressed by maths and can be nervous (at first) in lessons, I don’t want to add to that stress by setting homework that they may struggle to find the time or confidence to complete.
Doing 15 minutes a day following up on the lesson would help enormously!
In Years 1-6 this might mean learning some times tables or number bonds.
In Year 7 and up, working through a CGP Workbook, or an Edexcel REVISE book will move that fresh material into long term memory.
I’ll talk to you about the right book and the importance of checking answers once we get started.
Lessons are at 4.30, 5.45 and 7pm Monday to Thursday.

I don’t need you to sign a contract, but I do ask you to commit to having one tutoring session each week during term time. If you do need to cancel in advance, more often than not we can find another time for that lesson either during the week or during a school holiday. If we can’t find a time I charge £15 for that session. Lessons that are cancelled either just before or during the session and charged at full rate.
You can cancel the tutoring at any time.
I no longer tutor for grammar school entry, but if you are looking for a tutor in Years 5 and 6 I am happy to tutor subjects on the curriculum and those at KS3 level, as well as working through challenging maths puzzles and problems.
